This tour covers 2 of the most famous festivals of Rajasthan i.e. Pushkar Camel fair and Bundi Utsav. You will have a lifetime experience by attending these festivals.
Arrive at the capital of India and check in. Remaining time is at leisure till next morning.
Leave early for New Delhi railway station to take the day train to Ajmer to visit Pushkar Camel Fair. You will be met on arrival at Ajmer, and a short 30 minutes drive will make you reach Pushkar to check in at your hotel. After brief leisure, you may proceed to explore Pushkar Camel Fair, one of the last great tribal melas. Early dates of Pushkar Fair are the best time for Photography. Rabari herders with up to 9,000 camels congregate on the dunes, and pilgrims throng the many temples around the holy lake as the town celebrates one of the most spectacular & colourful festivals in the world. Camels, Horses, Rural Bazaars, Sadhus, Traders, Musicians, Magicians and Dancers provide endless entertainment; in the evening, retreat to your hotel and enjoy authentic desert music and folk dance performed by local artists.
Morning enjoy the different cultural activities in the fair ground. You may spend the whole day at the fair ground where many interesting activities go one side by side. Evening enjoy a tour to the Brahma Temple and Pushkar Lake. Later enjoy the evening performance at your hotel where the local folk artists perform.
Morning after breakfast you will travel to Jodhpur – “the blue city”. After checking in to your hotel, a sightseeing tour takes in stunning views over the city and splendid interiors at the great Rajput fortress of Meharangadh and the royal memorial of Jaswant Thada. Later you may explore the centuries-old markets around Clock tower. Evening you have the option to dine at Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the largest residences ever built.
After breakfast proceed towards Jaisalmer, the Golden city. This fortress city owed its great wealth to the camel caravans that plied the trade routes of the Thar Desert; entirely built in Sandstone, it takes on a golden glow in afternoon light. In the evening, there’s a camel ride on the sand dunes to enjoy the spectacular desert sunset.
After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer includes your visit to Sonar Fort, the only Indian Fort which is still inhabited; there are intricately carved stone houses and a beautiful Jain temple. Later you can visit the beautiful Patwon Ki & Nathmal Ji ki Havelis, with some of the finest carvings. Stay overnight in your hotel.
Post breakfast, drive through the Thar Desert region to reach Bikaner, another of the ancient trade route towns. En- route you may stop at Khichan to see the flocks of migrant demoiselle cranes which are protected and fed by villagers. After checking in, visit the historical 15th century Junagarh Fort and a unique camel research & breeding centre.
Morning after breakfast you will be transferred to “the pink city of India i.e. Jaipur”. After brief leisure, you may visit the colourful markets of Jaipur situated in the old walled city. Evening you may enjoy a cooking session with your hostess at your hotel.
Morning proceed for the excursion to Amber Fort. You will be provided an elephant ride to ascend the Fort. If interested; you may have a visit to the ‘‘Mahout’’s (elephant owners) Colony’’ to see the baby elephants. Afterwards visit the Maharaja’'s City Palace (the home of the erstwhile royal family), Jantar Mantar Astronomical Observatory (a UNESCO world Heritage Site & the scientific marvel of the age) and Hawa Mahal (the Palace of winds). Evening you may have dinner in Swarna Mahal Restaurant at Rambagh Palace.
After breakfast proceed to the charming old town i.e. Bundi to attend the Bundi Utsav, a vibrant festival which brings together people and performers from the rural region around Bundi. On arrival, check in at your beautiful heritage hotel situated right in the center. Later proceed to visit Bundi Festival. You may witness processions viz. a craft fair, classical music & dance and performances by local folk artist during your visit. Evening you may walk through the colourful old market during the evening or enjoy a visit to Jait Sagar Lake.
Post breakfast proceed to visit Bundi which includes the impressive Taragarh Fort and the characteristic palace complex where the Chitrashala has some of the finest miniature paintings in India. Later visit the nearby temple village of Keshorai Patan for an interesting Deep Daan ceremony in which women chant songs and prayers and float diya candle lamps on the river. Bundi is also famous for its stepwells and water buildings which can be visited in the evening and there are also tribal villages nearby.
Morning drive to Udaipur, the Lake city; a city of palaces with a spectacular romantic lake setting. On arrival, check in at your heritage hotel. In the evening enjoy a sunset boat ride over Lake Pichola. Later you may stroll in the bazaars around Jagdish Temple.
Post breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Udaipur which includes City Palace, Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum (has an interesting collection of dresses, turbans, musical instruments, dolls, paintings, the traditional puppets etc.) and Shilpgram craft village. Evening enjoy dinner at Fateh Prakash Palace features crystal chandeliers and amazing views over Lake Pichola.
Morning at appropriate time you will be transferred to Udaipur airport to board a morning flight to Delhi. After checking in, you can stroll around the markets of Connaught Palace where you can find good shopping, including the state-run craft Emporium. Later you may explore & experience the cultural and ethnic diversity at Dilli Haat
At appropriate time checkout from your hotel and you will be transferred straightway to Delhi International airport to board the flight back to your onward destination. The tour ends here.
